on the way home, i was listening to ksbj and i heard this beatiful song wtih awesome lyrics Newsong The Christmas Shoes It was almost Christmas time, there I stood in another line Tryin' to buy that last gift or two, not really in the Christmas mood Standing right in front of me was a little boy waiting anxiously Pacing 'round like little boys do And in his hands he held a pair of shoes His clothes were worn and old, he was dirty from head to toe And when it came his time to pay I couldn't believe what I heard him say Chorus: Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there's not much time You see she's been sick for quite a while And I know these shoes would make her smile And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight He counted pennies for what seemed like years Then the cashier said, "Son, there's not enough here" He searched his pockets frantically Then he turned and he looked at me He said Mama made Christmas good at our house Though most years she just did without Tell me Sir, what am I going to do, Somehow I've got to buy her these Christmas shoes So I laid the money down, I just had to help him out I'll never forget the look on his face when he said Mama's gonna look so great Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there's not much time You see she's been sick for quite a while And I know these shoes would make her smile And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight Bridge: I knew I'd caught a glimpse of heaven's love As he thanked me and ran out I knew that God had sent that little boy To remind me just what Christmas is all about What do YOU think?? Ahh, rejection. So we meet again. Sometimes, its so hard not to question God about things like this. Click here for my pure nard explanation about this (it's in the last 3 paragraphs). Ok, so yesterday I got in a "heated discussion" with my parents about whether or not I should volunteer today (Saturday) from 10-4:30. Seven hours at a hospital just didn't appeal to them that much, and that I should have my priorities straight. True, college apps and finals are important, but I also have duties at Texas Children's Hospital that I have to carry out, duties that shouldn't be compromised every single time I have to do something outside of volunteering, and my parents just don't seem to understand that. So, I went in today slightly depressed *gasp* and saw Stephanie *gasp again* for the first time volunteering there (go music cart!). After punching in, I discover beautiful gifts of appreciation sitting on a table for volunteers . From 10-12 I volunteered at the Pathology Lab, 12-1 was lunch, and 1-4:30 was Junior Council stuff. I don't really care about what my parents think about this matter, I enjoy volunteering a lot. I don't care if my seven hours at the hospital will bite me in the butt when finals arrive, volunteering just makes me feel good about myself. I'd much rather volunteer that study. From 1-4:30, I helped make bags to give out during Christmas time. We decorated white bags with pictures and "happy holidays", and put a beanie baby and some stickers in each. I'm sure the patients would enjoy this immensely, and that's probably why I enjoy volunteering so much. I want to make people happy, and it makes me happy to see them happy. So I haven't studied for finals or finished my college apps. I think I should get started, don't you?? What do YOU think?? Thursday, December 12, 2002

Welcome to a special Weekend edition of the Justin Chronicles on a Wednesday. Today's cover story: Making his first appearance to the Bellaire basketball courts this afternoon, a local Asian teen made an unexpected early exit after hurting himself. He lay on the court motionless for 10 seconds before getting up and hobbling to the sidelines. He was life-flighted via helicopter to his home, where he is recovering. No word yet of the teen's name nor his condition, but it is suspected that this youth collapsed on the court and suffered a twisted ankle, a lowered self-esteem, and ovarian cancer. Did you know THAT… The processional that the choir sang was written by a musical genius. Steven White, an old friend of choir director Mr. Marshall, wrote the work in a mere eight hours. EIGHT HOURS!!! All parts, all instruments, EVERYTHING, in eight hours as a college student twenty years ago. This masterpiece has never been published, and because there is no recording of it, Steven White hasn't received anything for this music. With the CD of the performance, music publishers will finally hear what awesome music this is. NOW YOU KNOW!!! What do YOU think?? Tuesday, December 10, 2002
I know we are only 3 days into this week, and I'm already looking forward to the end. On Sunday, I was at church from the morning all the way to 7 p.m. Amount of work done = 0. Then, Monday afterschool, from 6:30 - 9:00, Bellaire choir practice. Got home, did 0 amount of work. Today, took a gov test (sort of hard), geo 2 test (sort of hard), and barely scraped in a portfolio project (I really am way too lazy). Bummed around school until 4:45 playing basketball and doing nothing. Went home to eat dinner and catch a quick shower, then 5:45 hightailed it to Willow Meadows for orchestra prep. The orchestra/choir concert went pretty well, except for the massively horrible procession of the choir. I was stomach was flipping inside and out. *shudders* On a good note, the orchestra did a very decent job. Congrats to the soloist who was without her deserved credit in the concert program Olivia. You're getting your credit here. On a random note, chilled grape juice spiked with sprite tastes surprisingly refreshing. You got your fizz, you got your lemon-lime, you got your purple grape color, AND you get your daily intake of vitamin C. That is a winning combination for a drink: Delicious and Nutritious. <------Try saying THAT three times fast. ***NOTICE***: Jacket Lost. Blue article of clothing that keeps me very warm. Oh wait….this just in… ***NOTICE***: Jacket found. Very odd tags on the front. Can only belong to one person. We at Justin® would like to give a big thanks to those who saw this lone jacket, and had compassion for it, for it was like a Zerg without its Overlord, or like a sheep without its shepherd. (or like a Dino with its Rose) <----Just playing, of course. There's a reason this site is "justinianthegoofy" Exclusive thanks for Natasha for storing this jacket in her locker. THANK YOU! Hello, welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Justin Chronicles. Today's top story: The server crash that devastated the morning computer classes on Tuesday has been fixed. Said Justin, "I am so thankful. Yesterday was the scariest moment in my life. With no internet connection and no computer games, I was slipping into shock. My life was flashing before my eyes right before I fell unconcious and asleep. Luckily, the bell saved me from extra torture." According to officials, the improvements to the server were made to make the already blazing T1 connection even faster. We at the Chronicle suspect that teacher Jimmy Newland is downloading masses of illegal content, and the blazing connection simply was blazing enough for him. More on this tomorrow. In government news, Mr. Penner "taught" most of the day with extreme discolouration around his eyes. He claims that he "allowed" some 2nd period students to add color around his eyes. But we all know what's really going on. Ever since he showed off his masculine muscles to 6th period a month ago, he has been in a terrible slump. Losing various arm wrestling matches, including one to Omri just yesterday, Mr. Penner has lost confidence in himself to the point that even GIRLS overpowered him and gave him two black eyes. Heated debate ensued among students near lockers outside the library. Topics include 1) Who has the best 4 pack? 2) What are the correct lyrics to elementary school patty-cake games? 3) Are Dino and Rose setting off false fire alarms?? We believe that 4, 6, and 8 packs are useless, non-economical standards of society. Beer kegs all the way. (Well, maybe not beer, but more power to kegs in general) WE value our readers at the chronicle. Thank you. What do YOU think?? What do YOU think?? Attention Chronicle Readers: As you may have noticed, Justin has not posted in many days. This is because Justin has been working to provide a new and improved website for you, the viewers, to read. Ok, so I finally fixed the links stuff. Feel free to navigate around. Church was pretty good, as usual. I just hope I can manage my time enough between Christmas Pageant stuff and school stuff. Afterward, finally finished up the government survey thing. I think I counted a series of 17 failed calls in a row before someone was willing to answer a survey. Took a while to get all 10 surveys done. I’m hungry, looks like its off to dinner for me. Oh wait….UT stuff. Never mind then, dinner can wait. This music is too cool =) What do YOU think?? I like music. If you like music, feel free to turn on your speakers RIGHT NOW!!!! GOO!!! It's stuff like this that makes me happy. But then again, I am easily amused by anything. What do YOU think?? Hey, I play the violin too. Small world. WEEEEE. Longhorns whoop up on the Aggies 50-20. Go Simms. Wow, I ate so much food yesterday. Nothing defeats a dish of sticky rice with chinese sausage, dried mushrooms, fried onions, and soysauce. *mouth drools*. Big family get-together at my aunt's house, got to see some people I see only a couple times a year. Fun stuff. OH YEAH, one mroe thing. Earlier that day, I was at a Randalls, and I saw this cool-lookin' 6 pack of coke, except each can was 8 ounces instead of the regular 12. The cost?? A whopping $4.29. HOW STUPID IS AMERICA?!?!? Six 8 ounce cans of coke for $4.29? A regular six pack of 12 ounce coke was $1.99. Haha, it was pretty funny. Something tells me I'm spending too much time imagining my senior recital than doing college apps. haha, stephanie spelled the phrase "madd skillz." Imagine that. Well, thank you for such encouragement. And if anyone else believes that I wallow in my own self pity and thinks that I could use a little brightening in my day, feel free to click on the link below. It's absolutely free, no credit card number required, and if I'm not satisfied with the compliments I'm trying so "hard" to "dig" out of you, I will be happy to return to you a very unsatisfactory compliment. That is all. =P. I'm still my usual peppy self. BUt still... if that link below still says "What do YOU think?? (0)" ....... *shakes fist* What do YOU think?? Thursday, November 28, 2002
Aiya...mom just yelled at me for not making state orchestra, while 10 others I know did. Hmmm, I don't know...sure, private lessons could have helped, but willingly refused help. I guess my musical skills are meant more for entertainment. So IF I plan to have a senior recital, don't expect me to bust out with a 2 hour razzle dazzle concerto. Expect more of something less classy, but more entertaining. This could mean anything. This just in - Denver scores a measly 3 points in the first quarter. *cough* losers. What do YOU think?? mmmm…12 hours of sleep is VERY good. Wow, I was so laid back all day yesterday. Didn't feel the need to do anything. Except for during lunch, the Bellaire High School Jazz Combo had a courtyard gig. Yours truly was jazzin' it up on the violin, but BOY were my hands cold. The performance was ok, if only our vocal showed up. Sarah has a voice that fits jazz music perfectly. Afterschool, I went to bw3's (this buffalo wing restaurant), and chowed down on 18 buffalo wings. Very filling :). WE all had fun trying to answer questions for this game. And now it's today. After a long sleep, I've been semi-productive, studying and whatnot. Expect more posts on pure nard since I have the time to think them up. What do YOU think?? What do YOU think?? *hmm…I wonder what goes on behind that ridiculously looking grin Justin has?* Well, one thing I failed to mention in the previous post was that I did not make it to all-state. Today, I got to see exactly what I ranked in the auditions. For those who don't know, there are two sets of tapes for auditions: etudes and excerpts. They first judge the etude tapes, and then the top 120 people have their excerpt tapes judged. A total of 100 violinists make all state. How did my etude tapes fare?? 122. I was two people off from the cutoff for advancing to the second round of judging! Sucks for me. At first I thought it was funny, only missing by two spots, but I knew that later I would turn more serious. Now, I've never really been the one to go on a complaining spree. Actually, that's actually a reason why I didn't blog earlier this year; I didn't want the blog to turn into a portal of venting frustration and anger, and I won't. I refuse to express my negativity to others. I can tell you that yes, I am disappointed, for I feel I do have the talent to qualify for all-state orchestra (been fiddlin' for 12 years). Only two people off…and yet I still don't know what I feel, how I feel, or even whether if I feel. It's not like I totally botched the audition; I did practice "enough" (one whole week beforehand, on my own, and without a private teacher), I felt good about my taping, but I still don't make it?? Looks like my stubbornness to be independent and do things one my own terms cost me this audition, but I can't tell whether I'm laughing, sad, jealous, or frustrated about this whole thing, but it has been looming over my thoughts since Sunday though… Oh well…on a lighter note, a five day weekend is coming up soon, and I plan to try to be productive…maybe learn how to bake a turkey or something. See, this is the kind of stuff I don't get to share at school. "I'm like an onion…they have layers, and I do too." Anyone care to take a stab at where I got this quote/paraphase?? What do YOU think?? You know, I really don't get to post convo's up too much, but this one is one worth posting. k 3 1 t h 7985 (1:16:41 AM): haha nice name for your blogspot Auto response from Bugerking3 (1:16:41 AM): Me is tired, yet I must keep working. noo. boo. k 3 1 t h 7985 (1:16:47 AM): i'm glad i thought of it :-) Bugerking3 (1:16:51 AM): me too Bugerking3 (1:17:23 AM): G is for goofy, and goofy is for G.... k 3 1 t h 7985 (1:17:55 AM): and you're living up to your name as we speak Bugerking3 (1:18:25 AM): G is for goofy, and goofy is for G.......ooooohhhh goofy goofy goofy is for G!!! Congratulations to the following people for makign all-state orchestra: Irene, Olivia, Lawrence, Nathan, Stephanie, Matt, Alice, Emily, Sam, and Dolce. For the full list, click here . May you all have a great time in San Antonio in the spring. In response to the comments (much thanks to you) , well, it's just that this year's region orchestra wasn't as good as last year's...so he made a minor deal about our rhythm in a piece that had precise rhythm. As for pure nard...it's an inside quote, but don't worry, I will eventually explain its significance. Let's just say its somewhat related to the second quote. See, what did I say? Comments make the world go around. =). Wow, I think I may have come off a little bitter when I requested for comments. Well, I'm really wasn't bitter. It was more like..."hmmm, looks like my readers need a little encouragement." I guess it just came out a little harsh. What do YOU think?? Saturday, November 23, 2002
Region was fun. THIS time the group didn't have to walk a mile for lunch. =). The conductor was this older guy, but BOY did he have lots of energy. I want that kind of energy when I grow up. (I think I have that kind of energy right now). He had a couple of cool quotes. "If you let your emotion take over THIS *points to head*, then you got problems. It's all about rhythm. THINK." "In the beginning, there was NOT the word, but there was RHYTHM, for rhythm created the WORD." Wow, I haven't been so into the music for a while. At first I disliked the choice, but it grew on me. The violin became more than an instrument, it became a gateway to channel emotions. If you read this, at least have the courtesy to COMMENT. Comment at least on whether you understand the second quote. What do YOU think?? Friday, November 22, 2002
Well, looks like I get to post again. Just spent 3 hours at Klein HS, got back, and tomorrow, I get to spend maybe another 10 hours. "Hooray" for region orchestra. Searching for what else to say....should I respond to all the bgh talk on pure nard . It's already been written, all though out, I think it's pretty deep, but the matter is should I? Remember, pure nard is meant to go deep into my head. *reminder to self* keep it real. No fronts, try to keep things as real as possible. What do YOU think?? Thursday, November 21, 2002
Most likely this is my last post for the week because of region orchestra consuming it all. Wow, homework is starting to build up, looks like I better manage my time more efficiently, such as not wasting my comp sci period. Oh well, hopefully I’ll manage to get it all done. Some of you may have already say this, but I feel like saying it again. The George Foreman grill OWNS!!! hamburgers tonight for dinner, it and “knocked the fat out”, even though most of the dripping was just water. Still Tasted really good. WAH all-state results are going to be posted this weekend. The truth shall be revealed shortly. Pure nard will soon get a posting. Fitting to the season, it will probably revolve around what I’m thankful for, but with deeper meaning. To add or not to add my POV to the bgh issues…THAT is the question. What do YOU think?? i am posting during compsci. One sad guy I am. the coolest Yoda is. wow, bgh is getting super intense. What do YOU think?? Wednesday, November 20, 2002
Hmmm….I believe some opening credits are called for. Special thanks to the nutty Keith, aka nutcase for giving such an honorable and goofy name. Special thanks to fat CAN for providing the inspiration for pure nard. Special thanks to "bob" for being commentor #1. He's going to the Justin Hall of fame. I've actually wanted to blog for a while now, but several reasons I didn't were because 1) I was afraid of using this as an image booster, or that I would try to gain popularity to fit in. 2) I'm very lazy. Why did I start, you ask?? Several reasons, again. 1) It's senior year, I want to do something. Might as well see what this will do for me. 2) Believe it or not, I think I've been maturing for the past year, and I have a lot thoughts I would like to share with others. Obviously, school isn't the most ideal place to share deep thoughts, so looks like I'll revert to a less personal, but more outreaching method of sharing thoughts. This is where purenard comes in. 3) I'm really bad at initiating conversations online. Bugerking3 : YOU NEVER TALK TO ME IETHER!!! Bugerking3 : conversations are a mutual responsibility x sees candy x : i'm TIRED of being the INITIATOR in our FRIENDSHIP But I still want to have people know what’s going on with me. Everyone’s schedule is so different, looks like online is the only way to catch up. I’ll try to keep things as real as possible. Please comment. I like comments. Comments make people feel good. Comments make the world go round. What do YOU think?? Tuesday, November 19, 2002
